The purpose of the Corpus Christi Polar Bear Plunge is not only to raise funds, but to build community. Approximately 20,000 Americans are living with ALS at any given time, with 5,000 newly diagnosed every year. Nearly everyone knows or has known someone affected. Yet it doesn't always feel that way to someone walking through the disease. ALS is isolating. The Coastal Bend ALS Support Group aims to bring together people living with ALS, plus the families and loved ones of those who have or had ALS. Anyone is welcome. We are stronger together.
